How to Protect Silver Jewelry

Store it separately from other pieces. Although silver jewelry is pretty resilient, it will develop fine scratches in the metal over time if you store it with other jewelry. Never pile your silver jewelry together or keep it in a box where gemstones can scratch the metal surfaces.

Wipe it down with a cotton cloth after you wear it. This will remove oils from your skin and acid residues from your makeup. Always use a 100 percent cotton cloth as polyester blends can scratch the jewelry.
