Function: Camshaft Alignment Removal Tools It is used to lock the camshaft at the TDC position when checking/adjusting the camshaft timing, replacing the intake camshaft or timing chain. At the same time, the replacement of the cylinder head seal and the motor timing will require this tool.

Note: Most shop manuals are wrong because they state that the camshaft timing indicator needs to be up. This is based on the time between the top and bottom. In most cases, if these tools are needed, neither of them is timely. In order to correctly align the 119-590 locking pin into the flywheel, all four cylinders need to be located at or as close as possible to the center of the cylinder bore. Once this is achieved, no matter where the camshaft timing indicator is, the flywheel lock pin will be easily installed. To align the camshaft with the crankshaft, simply loosen the camshaft sprocket bolts and rotate the camshaft accordingly. When loosening the sprocket bolts, use a 27 mm open-end wrench to secure the camshaft.
