SMBus has a timeout function, so when SCL is too low to exceed 35 ms, the device will reset the ongoing communication. On the contrary, I2C uses hardware reset. SMBus has an alert response address (ARA), so when an interrupt is generated from the device, it does not immediately clear the interruption, but keeps it until it receives a ARA sent by the main device with its address. SMBus works only from 10kHz to the highest 100kHz. minimumworking frequency10kHz is determined by the SMBus timeout function

When the I2C device has no external power supply, it can choose the VDD (3.3V) of the splice board to power the I2C equipment. It is worth noting that the VDD on the switch board is only the driving power of 200MA. If the I2C equipment needs more current, please connect the external power supply and use second kinds of connection methods. When the I2C device does not need the power supply of the adapter, second ways are used.
